Today we saw out our first year at Dunn Street in style. There were lots of Lei’s and grass skirts at our Hawaiian themed party. After a jam-packed morning, we ate snacks and played games in the afternoon. We also had a very special visitor who tried his hardest to take part in musical bumps, even with a full leg cast. It was fantastic to have all of our classmates together as the final bell rang out for 2016/2017.
The Reception Team would like to thank all of the children who have made this year a one to remember and also take this opportunity to thank the parents for their co-operation throughout. We hope you all have a brilliant six weeks and stay safe.
Many thanks from Mrs Garr, Mrs Ramshaw and Miss Little.
We had a visit from Rob at Zoo Lab with lots of his animals. Rob told us tonnes of facts and let us hold some of his amazing pets. We learned some cool facts about each animal: did you know cockroaches have two brains? Reception were very brave and interacted with all of the creatures! They were much braver than Miss Little who hid behind the camera all afternoon! The salamander was our favourite as he looked beautiful and he felt so soft.
Nursery and Reception had a fantastic trip to the beach! We made some wonderful sandcastles, buried our friends in the sand and went wave jumping. Needless to say, EVERYONE had an amazing day and we finished it off with a delicious Mr Whippy! There were a lot of sleepy heads on the bus journey home. We can’t wait for our next trip to the beach!
We had a great time at the farm feeding and holding the animals and learning all about them. The tractor ride was great even though it was very bumpy and we even got time to play in the park before our journey back to school!
Calling all Nursery and Reception parents…there is still time! Don’t miss it!

Reception had a great time at Woodhorn Museum, learning about dinosaurs and playing in the park!
Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 enjoyed the E-Safety show by ‘Barking up the Right Tree’. There were lots of different rules for us to follow to make sure we are safe online.

As part of our ‘Around the World’ topic we visited America and learned about New York. We strutted our stuff in a fashion show and made our outfits using recyclable materials. Thank you to all the parents for your hard work we hope you enjoyed the show as much as we did!
We had fun with Caroline at Little Dribblers. We practised our ball skills and moving around the hall safely. We listened carefully to Caroline!
