KS1 Maths Café

What a fantastic time we had at the Maths Café. The children really enjoyed working with their families on Maths problems.

We would like to say a massive thank you to all the family members who attended and for the great feedback we received. Your response was overwhelming.

KS1 trip to the Centre for Life

We had a wonderful time at the Centre for Life. We learned all about materials in the workshop by sorting them into different groups and testing the best material for a bag.

We changed wool into felt by using two long pieces of wool and a short piece of wool in between. Melissa sprayed the wool with water and fairy liquid and we rubbed the wool in between two pieces of bubble wrap to make felt. It was so clever.

We had a chance to play in the soft play and the Curiosity Zone and we saw lots of amazing Lego models.

We finished the day with a visit to the Planetarium and the Science Show.

We all had a fantastic time!

Fantastic Projects

Thank you so much for all the effort you put in to support your child with their “Space” themed project. They were all amazing, so thank you again! The children thoroughly enjoyed speaking in front of the class to explain how their project was made.

KS1 Christmas Party

What a fabulous day we had at our KS1 Christmas party. We played lots of fun party games and danced around with our friends in the hall. We even got a visit from Olaf. He was being very silly!

We then went back to our classrooms which had been transformed by our teachers. We ate lots of tasty party food and sang along to some Christmas songs.

After that we went back into the hall to meet a special guest. Can you guess who it was?

SANTA!!

He brought us an early Christmas present and asked us what we wanted for Christmas.

We are all super excited now! 🙂

Kirkley Hall Zoological Gardens

We went on a trip to Kirkley Hall Zoological Gardens to learn more about animals for our Science topic. There were lots of mammals, reptiles, fish, birds and amphibians to see. We had a fantastic time with our tour guide, Donna. Thank you Kirkley Hall. We will definitely be back to see you and the animals!

We’re Going on a Bog Baby Hunt

The Bog Baby is missing!

We’re going on a Bog Baby Hunt. We’re going to catch a big one. We’re not scared.

Uh-oh the gym. The energising, challenging gym.

We can’t go over it, we can’t go under it.

Oh no we’ve got to go through it!

Uh-oh the willow. The long, weeping willow.

We can’t go over it, we can’t go under it.

Oh no we’ve got to go through it!

Uh-oh the tyres. The bouncy, enormous tyres.

We can’t go over them, we can’t go under them.

Oh no we’ve got to go through them!

And what’s this? A shed? Could the Bog Baby be hiding in the shed?
