Guinness World Records

18th May 2022Lisa Simanis

Year 4 can now say they took part in a Guinness World Record attempt! The children were very excited and eager to take part in a live stream of rolling numbers. The children participated with other primary schools  in the UK to pass previous live stream  of 1500 schools.

We did it! Year 4 will bring home their Guinness World Record attempt certificates.

We have had so much fun this week in  Year 4. Cooking, playing games and not forgetting making eggs for the Easter Egg competition. A huge thankyou to all of the families who worked very hard on the eggs decorated at home.

#LetGirlsPlay: Biggest Ever Football Session 09.03.22

On Wednesday 9th March, girls in Key Stage 2 participated in the biggest EVER football session! We had an absolute blast and thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to get involved in football. Have a look at what we got up to:

It was so popular, we are going to start a new Girls Football session on Thursday lunchtimes. If you would like to attend, all you need is suitable footwear and lots of enthusiasm!

Our Lives at Dunn Street

Over the past year we have been implementing a new curriculum for RSE and PSHE into Dunn Street.  The children have a weekly lesson called ‘Our Lives’.  The children learn how to become happy, confident and safe individuals who can make informed choices about all aspects of their lives now and in the future.

Over the past week we have been reflecting on our journey so far across the three key stages.  The children have shared what they have been taught and how this has impacted on their lives.  Below is a video showing ‘Our Lives’.

Anti-Bullying Week 2021

This week the children of Dunn Street have been taking part in lots of activities around the theme of ‘One Kind Word’ for Anti-Bullying Week.  As a school we have looked at what kindness is and how to be kinder to ourselves and others.  We started the week with the whole school wearing odd socks to celebrate our differences.

Odd Socks Year 4

Year 4 had fun showing off their odd socks and celebrated being different. We discussed being kind and how one kind word can make someone feel happy.

Maths Week Year 4

Times tables with a difference.  The children had to complete as many times table challenges they could, by using dice,  playing cards or dominoes all before the timer rang.  Lots of excitement and fun but most importantly the children were learning.
