Our KS2 Assembly this week, incorporated the theme of National Story Telling Week as we listened to the parable of The Good Samaritan. The Bible story of the Good Samaritan is a parable to demonstrate how we should “love our neighbours as ourselves.” When others need our help the most, like the man beaten by robbers on the road, our love for neighbours is truly tested. We should strive to be like the Good Samaritan, helping others in times of suffering.
Then, in KS2 Music, on Friday, we listened to 3 different musical “stories”. The first came from the Oregon Symphony website that has a series of stories with musical accompaniments. We listened to “I am Enough” featuring the flute. We also listened to “Pick Yourself Up” (our School Value Resilience Song) and “World In Union” (our School Value Cooperation Song) and discussed the stories behind the songs.
