Yesterday, The Magnificent Seven donned their wellies and set off into the wonderful surroundings of Blagdon Estate.  The day was organised by The Country Trust which is the UK’s leading national educational charity connecting children with the land that sustains us all.

We were given the opportunity to discover, first-hand, the connections between the food we eat, our own health and the health of the planet.

Blagdon, a private estate, stands out as a spectacular piece of countryside and heritage in south-east Northumberland. Its buildings, gardens, woods, parks, farms and wetlands are all of the highest quality.  We learnt, first hand, about the dairy farm and the journey milk goes on from “grass to glass”.  We also visited the old walled-garden, enjoyed the privilege of seeing areas of the estate not seen by many and turned cream into butter!
